Cubeword · Crosswords with sides

The crossword that turns corners.

Every puzzle here is built from letter cubes. Words run across a face and keep going around the edge; a cube on a corner is a letter in two words at once. Spin the shape, or lay it out flat. One structure that appears as you solve it and keeps going, section after section; and a mini cube every day.

Cubeword 1.0

The crossword that appears as you solve it. You start with one clue's worth of cubes. Get the word and it sets; the words that cross it appear, letters already in place, until the whole section stands. Then the next section begins on its back corner, and the structure keeps going for as long as you do. No day to miss: take the sections in order, at your own pace, alone or against a group.

How a Cubeword works

  1. Across reads left to right and continues around the corner onto the next face.
  2. Down reads top to bottom, and can run over the top, down a face, out along a step, and down again.
  3. An edge cube is one letter shared by two faces, so a word solved on one side gives you a start on the next.
